SPEAKERS BIOGRAPHIES

Bruce Woodman has been working in renewable energy for almost 20 years, since founding PEP in 1989. He has worked with a number of international wind and renewable energy companies. He has experience within the manufacturer, developer and owner/operator sectors, and also in micro wind, remote power, marine and biomass. Currently a director of a several companies in the UK and Canada, he has been successful in helping raise capital on the London Stock Exchange AIM market. He co-founded Green Peninsula in 2005, helping it become a leading advisor to large corporates such as Asda/Walmart, BOC & other household names.

William Grafton

Will was until recently founder director of Connect Spot, a successful and innovative wireless technology company providing all wireless worldwide roaming and payment solutions. Recent achievements were the first prepaid and wifi wireless and telephone card in conjunction with idt, and the worlds first mobile satellite wifi service truck for use at events pop concerts etc. Will Grafton is a director of a fine wines business and has been a member of the IEEE for 20 years.

Bruce Colley. As Investment Director Bruce has been instrumental in facilitating a significant proportion of SWAINs deals over the last 4 years.

Bruce has a PhD in Computer Simulation and an MBA. Five years as Technical Director of a Marine Software business and three years as Managing Director of an E-Commerce business provide a strong and practical commercial background.

Simon Hewes

Simon Hewes is a corporate finance partner of Bond Pearce LLP. Simon specialises in mergers & acquisitions, private equity and investment transactions, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Simon won the South West Corporate Lawyer of the Year Award at the 2007 Insider Dealmakers Awards.

Bond Pearce is a leading UK law firm operating in the energy sector. It offers a broad commercial service to renewable energy companies, investors and financiers.

Bond Pearce's clients include Npower Renewables, RES, West Coast Energy, London Array, Wavehub, Farm Energy and ORECon.

Jonathan Williams

Bishop Fleming is one of the South Wests largest and fastest growing accountancy firms.

Jonathan Williams heads the firms Corporate Finance department. He has advised a large number of owner-managed businesses in the region on acquisition, growth and strategy, fund-raising through debt, private equity and public markets, corporate structures, sales and exit strategy. He is an adviser to 3 companies on PLUS markets, including Good Energy Group which he advised on its listing on PLUS in 2004.

He qualified with Deloitte Haskins and Sells and joined Bishop Fleming in 2000 after spending a number of years as Group Financial Controller of a group of companies listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Keith Masson

Keith Masson has a degree in Financial Services from UMIST and is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He spent 17 years with HSBC Bank before joining Wales Fund Managers Ltd in 1997 working as an investment manager responsible for investing equity into suitable businesses both in Wales and the South West of England. Keith was appointed Managing Director of the South West Ventures division in July 2001 and is responsible for managing the team of investment managers as well as liasing with the fund providers and local RDA.
